Out of the 6 groups, teams occupying the 1st and 2nd positions got automatic qualification to round of 16, out of those groups, there were for slots for ‘best losers’ meaning they were 3rd in their group with many points or superior goal difference as compared to number 3 in other groups.
East Africa will be represented by Uganda who will face Senegal, the runners up in Kenyan and Tanzanian group.
